About Me

Hi, I’m Paul. Self-Confessed Sci-Fi Geek , Dr Who fan & Zombie Disposal Expert, I like Movies, Comic Books, and all things PS4. I’m also a writer at Dark Media Online.  I would love to write a novel one day, and I also enjoy chatting to the many people I have got to know on Twitter (Where you can follow me @paul_bowler). My blog also has a Facebook page at Sci-Fi Jubilee Facebook and I have a new YouTube Channel Paul Bowler YouTube so if you want to like or subscribe to either of those you are most welcome. When I’m not busy being an Impossible Astronaut, I like to take a break from my adventures in time & space to enjoy some of my favourite TV shows & movies – preferably with a nice cuppa tea & a sandwich!

So Tubularsock bought a new channel changers but the batteries keep running out.

  11. Thank you so much for visiting my site and liking my articles on a daily basis as well as commenting on the articles! I hope I can do this more often for you, too ;-). As I’ve started reading more comics (and covering them in my articles), this will be the case, I think!

    • You’re welcome and thank you very much as well. I cover films, TV, and Comics, so hopefully there will be lots of things you’ll find to enjoy as well.

      • All three categories are just my cup of tea, so I’ll definitely find something. I hope you’ll like some recommendations or any other stuff I share as well ;-). Last month and this month, there were and will be quite a few comic book collections to write about. Maybe you can give me some advise for future purchases.

      • That’s great. I always advise people getting into / or back into / comics just to go for characters they are familiar with and like the best first. For me its always been Batman, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Hulk and X-Men. I’d be happy to give you any advice on issue or graphic novels as well.

      • Sounds great. I grew up with Spider-Man and He-Man, although it’s debatable if that’s an original comic character. But I do have the mini-comics series and loved the animated TV show ;-). I guess I’d usually go for the rather wacky anti-heroes these days. I really liked Hellboy and Deadpool. Aside from superheroes, “Harrow County” and “Fables” were pretty cool.

      • You can’t really go wrong with Amazing Spider-Man, the current series with the Beyond storyline is really good, and there are tons of graphic novel / collected editions to check out – especially the Epic Collections which which are good to look out for as they focus on particular stories and themes. I’m. a big fan of Hellboy as well, again there are lots of collected editions and currently Hellboy The Bones of Giants which is a great new storyline. 🙂

      • Sounds cool, although looking at the prices of the Omnibus editions for Spidey, I’m not sure I can easily dig into it. Digital versions might do the trick, but I’m more for a physical product ;-). I only read the Mike Mignola Omnibus and Short Stories, which I liked a lot. I guess we’ll have to exchange some recommendations via Twitter or Facebook so I won’t have to spam your site :-).

      • That will be great. Yeah, the trade collection can be expensive. I always around on Twitter as well. I tend to review some of the latest comics on my Blog so hopefully I’ll review something you like the sound of as well.

      • One last recommendation I might write something about (or I did already with their videos): The prog rock band Coheed and Cambria has been doing an epic comic-book style crossover between their music and comic books. I’m trying to get my hands on them while they’re still not too expensive: “The Amory Wars”. A very unique concept and it seems the comics are just as great as the music, although they went a bit too mainstream after their first three albums (which are amazing, BTW).
