Doctor Who 2017 Christmas Special Twice Upon A Time Children In Need Clip
As part of the BBC’s annual Children in Need live charity fundraising event on BBC One, Doctor Who fans were treated to a preview clip of the Doctor Who 2017 Christmas special Twice Upon a Time! Written by Steven Moffat (his last story before Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall takes over as show runner) and directed by Rachel Talalay, Twice Upon a Time is also Peter Capaldi’s final adventure as the 12th Doctor before he regenerates into 13th incarnation played by Jodie Whittaker. Twice Upon a Time also features David Bradley as the 1st Doctor, Pearl Mackie as Bill, and Mark Gatiss as a World War I solider known as ‘The Captain’ Check out the special preview clip, where the 1st Doctor enters the 12th Doctor TARDIS first show on Children in Need! Can’t wait for this Doctor Who Christmas Special!
Thank u for finding this!
Might have known Children In Need wld have a Preview clip
I had hoped a meeting between 1 and 12 wld occur so, yes, I guess I can’t wait either!
Madness was never this good! 😉
Yes, they usually show a preview clip. Thought it was fun to see the 1st Doctor inside the 12th Doctor’s TARDIS, looks like we are in for a treat with this Christmas Special 🙂
Yes, Paul, let’s hope so.
Personally, I’ve found th scripts during this Capaldi era too trying
but from what we’ve seen so far, these 2 Doctors have some good chemistry together
Fancy a jelly baby? 😉
I’ve enjoyed Capaldi’s time as the Doctor. Sure, there have been stories that haven’t worked, but I think series 10 was a strong season for the 12th Doctor. I think the time is right for a new Doctor and showrunner now.
I enjoyed the old “3 Doctors” episodes, so this might be interesting.
The Three Doctors is a fantastic classic story, one of my favourites as well. Hopefully the seeing the 1st and 12th Doctor’s in Twice Upon a Time will be just as good. I always look forward to the Christmas Specials 🙂
Looking forward to another Christmas with the Doctor (this time Doctor…s!), although with a twinge of sadness this year given Capaldi’s exit.
Did you know that Big Finish are doing a First Doctor audio series with David Bradley – the first set is out in January, sounds promising!
I’m very excited for this Christmas Special, especially with the 1st Doctor and 12th Doctor teaming up like this! Going to be fun, but also bit sad because Capaldi is leaving. I do feel the time is right though for a new Doctor and showrunner to move the show forward. Yes, I’d read about the Big Finish 1st Doctor audios in January, be those will be good as well. Might have to treat myself to those, been a while since Ive checked out any Big Finish Doctor Who Audios.
They’ve got some good stuff just release/coming out – I’m currently listening to volume 1 of the Timer War (8th Doctor) and got the War Master pre-ordered as well!
That sounds awesome, I will have to check out some of these new releases, cheers for letting me know 🙂
That’s not the original actor for the first doctor, is it?
Again I keep hearing from several of my friends how awesome this show is, and this clip looks entertaining, and yet I’ve never seen the show. I probably wouldn’t have any free time if I really got into it.
No, the original actor that played the 1st Doctor was William Hartnell. David Bradley portrayed the actor in An Adventure in Space and Time, the 2013 special one-off drama about the early years and production of Doctor Who at the BBC. Then, Bradley was portraying William Hartnell the actor, but in the new Doctor Who 2017 Christmas Special he will be playing the 1st Doctor. Well, there’s loads of Doctor Who episode to try, classic and new series (much like there is Star Trek), so with a new series starting next year – with a new Doctor and showrunner – it might be a good time to check out Doctor Who as it will all be completely new again for everyone. Then you can always go back and see other episodes if you have time.
Didn’t think he was. The show is way too old for the original actor to still be alive. Lots of missing episodes from that era from what I’ve heard as well.
Kind of makes it exciting whenever they do find missing episodes in their entirety.
William Hartnell did return in the classic story The Three Doctors, so you might want to check that one out. Yes, there are still lots of missing episodes, hopefully more will turn up one day perhaps?
